Two poets reading from new work.
Tabios won the Phillippines' National Book Award for Poetry; I TAKE THEE, ENGLISH, FOR MY BELOVED is her 8th poetry collection. McIntosh won the Silver Medal at the Film Festival of the Americas for Original Poetry in a Screenplay; THE AFTER-DEATH HISTORY OF MY MOTHER is his sixth poetry collection. This program is presented by Marsh Hawk Press, New York, and is free and open to the public.

Jason Carney and Shin Yu Pai
Contemplative Slam/Contemplative School Readings.
Jason Carney is a former skinhead who now uses poetry to continue to reform himself and heal others. Shin Yu Pai's poetics are heavily influenced by the New York and L-A-N-G-U-A-G-E Schools of poetry, in addition to the Chinese and Japanese literary traditions.

Cowgirl by Judy Gordon.Saturday night, March 26, 2005, at 7:00 p.m.
Judy Gordon Visual Art Exhibit opens.
Judy is an accomplished poet-artist working with oil, acrylics, pen, charcoal, words, and music. Many of her artworks are inspired and influenced by Native American culture. Her notebooks are filled with "broadsides," drawings incorporating spare, thoughtful text reflecting awareness and appreciation of historical and contemporary perspectives. The opening evening will feature a presentation of monographs followed by conversation with the artist. Exhibit runs through the month of April as a part of the bookstore's celebration of National Poetry Month.

WNBA Dallas Chapter
The Women's National Book Association was established in 1917, and the Dallas Chapter was formed in the fall of 1993. The Purpose of the Dallas Chapter is to bring together women and men who are interested and active in the book world — publishers, writers, editors, illustrators, agents, librarians, booksellers, and readers.
